You are private investigators and associates, hired by a noir femme fatale to find her missing husband, with a catch - make sure he remains missing. Things are complicated by an insurance company who wants to avoid paying out on the insurance policy, gangsters, a shady art gallery, a devious nightclub owner who is much more than he seems, the LAPD, and the missing husband himself.
This is designed as a "Mythos-lite" scenario, focused more on an investigation, leading to the antagonists at the end. It is designed to be played in 1-2 sessions or a convention slot, and is structured to be a one-shot with players and keepers who might be new to playing Call of Cthulhu. The scenario was designed as a stand-alone adventure, with four pre-generated characters provided, to get things moving quickly. However, this scenario also has several plot threads that could develop into a longer campaign.
This is a playtest. Characters will be provided and feedback is welcome! Players of all skill levels are welcome.
Content Advisory!
Warning: Call of Cthulhu is a horror game dealing with adult topics. This scenario involves spousal abuse, gore, violence, horror and implied pornography. Players should be warned about these topics before playing.
